First Aid Level 2
Course Overview:
This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to provide effective first aid in the workplace. The course is specifically tailored for the South African audience and complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85 of 1993) regulations.

Course Objectives:

To provide learners with an understanding of the principles of first aid and their application in the workplace.

To equip learners with the skills required to provide effective first aid in emergency situations.

To enable learners to identify and manage potential workplace hazards and prevent accidents.

To provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to handle medical emergencies in the workplace.

Course Duration: 2 days

The course will be delivered over 2 days, with a total of 16 hours of training.

Introduction to first aid and the role of the first aider

Basic life support and CPR

Wound care and bleeding control

Fractures and dislocations

Burns and scalds

Poisoning and bites

Head and spinal injuries

Environmental emergencies

Legal considerations in providing first aid

Workplace safety and accident prevention

Record keeping and reporting

Assessment:

A written test to assess learners' knowledge of first aid principles and procedures

A practical assessment to evaluate learners' ability to provide first aid in simulated emergency situations

A workplace assessment to evaluate learners' ability to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world workplace scenario

Certification:
​
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of competency in First Aid Level 2 OHS training.

Prerequisites:

Learners must be at least 18 years of age

Learners must be able to read and write in English

Learners must have completed First Aid Level 1 training within the last two years.
